Don't Be So Hard On Yourself

Do you feel guilty that you haven't gotten around to getting organised? Do you call yourself "hopeless" and wonder why you can't get sorted when others seem completely in control?

Please stop for a moment and consider all the roles you are currently juggling. How many balls do you have in the air?

Work and/or a business, caring for kids and/or other family, running a household, study, illness, hobbies, exercise, pets, social life...

I'm guessing you may be dealing with at least 3 of these, each with their own challenges and demands on your time and energy. That's a lot, and you can forgive yourself if you drop a ball every now and then. Give yourself a break!

Try one or all of the following tips to get out of overwhelm.

Take a break

I know it may seem counter productive but to give yourself some time out, allows you to come back refreshed and ready to face your challenges with a clear head. Even if it's just a quiet bath or a walk in the sun.

Ask for help

Whether it's a family member to lighten the load, or someone with professional expertise where you're stuck. Getting help can make a huge difference to your workload but also remind you that you're not alone. You don't have to do it all yourself!

One step at a time

If you've been putting off that paper pile or email inbox because it's just so huge, just do 10 minutes where you can. Each little piece you tackle is moving you a step closer to where you want to be.
